The name of the room derives from the pictorial representations of the vault, among which, in the center, we have the allegory of Glory, depicted as a winged woman holding the heraldic mounts of Pope Sixtus V with her right hand and in her left holding a palm tree. Surrounding the Gloria are painted personifications of the four seasons, which can be recognized by the produce of the earth and the plaques below. The seasons refer to the reign of the Church, which will never fail until the fulfillment of History to lead the People of God into the Kingdom of Heaven. For this reason, this hall has always been used as a throne room.
